Keywords rocks

Igneous rocks Rocks formed by volcanic activity
Sedimentary rocks Rocks made from sediments underwater that are cemented and compressed together
Metamorphic rocks Sedimentary or igneous rocks that are changed into metamorphic because of great heat and pressure
Intrusive rocks Rocks that are made inside of the earths crust
Extrusive rocks Rocks that were made outside of the earths surface
Fossils The remains of ancient creatures
Shaft mining The process of extracting coal from the earths crust
Limestone A grey sedimentary rock often found with sea creature remains
Sandstone A red/cream/brown sedimentary rock formed with worn away sand
Marble A white/green/black smooth metamorphic rock (was originally limestone before)
Quartz A white/grey grainy metamorphic rock (was originally sandstone)
