Human Geography: Settlement and Patterns of Land Use

TermDefinition
Population Distribution The way in which people are spread across a given area
Rural An open swath of land that has few homes or other buildings, and not very many people.
Suburban Lower density areas that separate residential and commercial areas from one another.
Urban The region surrounding a city.
Distribution The way something is spread out or arranged over a geographic area.
Human Resources The set of people who make up the workforce of an organization, business sector, industry, or economy.
Patterns of Settlement The distribution of human activities across the landscape and the spatial relationship between these activities
