TermDefinition
Duality When one thing has two or more natures. Example: Scripture is both the Word of God and the written word of humans.
Sacred Scripture 1) The written record of God's revelation of himself. 2) The speech of God put down in writing under the breath of the Holy Spirit. 3) The Word of God.
Revelation An Act of making known divine truth. From the begining God made himself known and His plan for us known gradually and in stages
Word of God A title for Jesus Christ and Sacred Scripture. Jesus is the Word of God become flesh in the Incarnation.
Sacred Tradition The mode of transition of the Word of God.
Magisterium The teaching authority of the Church and those who have the authority.
Deposit of Faith Everything about the Christian faith formed by Sacred Scriture and Sacred Tradition.
Homily A teaching drawn from the day's readings given by the priest or deacon at Mass.
Liturgy of the Word The first part of the Mass in which we receive the Word of God.
Theology The study of God and all the things of God.
Salvation Being freed from the power and effects of sin.
Liturgy of the Eucharist The second part of the Mass in which we receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
