Altruism | the belief in or practice of selfless concern for the well-being of others. |
Citizenship | the state of being vested with rights, privileges, and duties. |
Empathy | the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. |
Foresight | the ability to predict what will happen or will be needed in the future. |
Gratitude | the quality of being thankful; ready to show appreciation. |
Healthcare | the maintenance and improvement of physical and mental health through medical services. |
Helping professions | careers that nurture the growth of problems a person has (nurses, doctors, social workers, teachers, preachers). |
Humanitarian | concerned with or seeking to promote human welfare. |
Longevity | long existence or service. |
Needs assessment | a process for determining and addressing needs or "gaps" for people in need. |
Oath | a solemn promise regarding one's future action or behavior. |
Patient | centered care-care that is respectful of, and responsive to, individual patient needs. |
Public health | the health of the population as a whole, monitored and regulated by the state. |
Selflessness | concern more with the needs and wishes of others than with yourself. |
Servant leadership | a philosophy of leading others by putting the members' needs over your own. |
Simulated work environment | a learning environment in which a trainee is able to practice using and operating relevant industrial equipment under realistic workplace conditions. |
Stewardship | the job of supervising or taking care of something, like an organization or a property. |
Sustainability | the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level. |
