National Debt Money owed by the United States.
National Bank Important because everyone could get money.
Protective Tariff A tax on goods in which is thought to protect people.
Neutrality Proclamation proclaimed that America would not choose sides.
Whiskey Rebellion A rebellion where farmers lashed out against the tax on Whiskey.
When did the Whiskey Rebellion end? When George Washington led troops out to settle things; the farmers would not attack the president.
What was the first political party? The Federalist Party.
What did the Democratic-Republican Party want to do? It wanted to limit the federal government's power.
Who supported the Alien and Sedition acts? The federalist party.
What were the Alien and Sedition acts? Four laws that were said to protect the United States, but the Federalists intended them to crush opposition to war.
What did the Republicans think of the Alien and Sedition acts? They thought it was unconstitutional.
What were the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions? Documents that argued that the Alien and Sedition Acts were unconstitutional.
What is "loose construction?" When the federal government can take reasonable actions that the Constitution does not specifically forbid.
Who passed the Judiciary Act of 1789? George Washington.
What did the Judiciary Act of 1789 set up? Three federal courts.
What is an electoral college? A body of electors who represent each state's vote in choosing the president.
