Nervous System

QuestionAnswer
What is the main job of the nervous system? Transmit signals between the brain and the body.
What is a neuron? A information messenger.
What are the three main parts of a neuron? Axon, Cell body, and Dendrites
What is a nerve impulse? An electric signal that travels along a nerve fiber.
What is action potential? An all or none response.
What are the parts of the Brain? Frontal Lobe, Cerebrum, Cerebellum, Brain Stem, Parietal lobe, Temporal lobe, and Occipital lobe.
How do we see? Light passes through the Cornea,Pupil,Iris,Lens,Retina, and the to the optic nerve.
What are the parts of the Eye? Cornea, Pupil ,Iris, Lens, Retina, and the optic nerve.
How do we hear? Vibrating air molecules vibrate your ear drum which vibrates the three bones in your inner ear which vibrates your cochlea which sends a nerve impulse to the brain.
What are the parts of the ear? Pinna, Ear Canal, eardrum, malleolus, incus, stapes, cochlea, and then the auditory nerve.
What are the two branches of the nervous system? Central and Peripheral Nervous systems.
What are the parts of the central nervous system? Brain and Spinal cord.
What are the parts of the Peripheral Nervous system? Everything else that branches out.
How do we smell? We use our olfactory bulb and our olfactory receptors.
How do we taste? There are tastebuds all over your tongue and there are also 5 regions on your tongue where you can taste certain things better.
