Wisdom | comes over time; allows us to look at like from all perspectives; to see and understand the picture of a situation |
Understanding | to see from another person's heart; feel the feelings of others and put them before out own; empathy |
Knowledge | find important info and look at it intelligently/objectively |
Fortitude (courage) | to follow convictions and conscience no matter what |
Counsel (right judgement) | be open to listening to others' problems; seek and be open w/ others |
Piety (reverence) | honoring god and his people |
Fear of the Lord (wonder and awe) | be amazed by things in life; be present to realization that we are always in god's presence |

How does the holy spirit come to us in confirmation? | bishop extends his hands over those to be confirmed, prays they receive the holy spirit, and anoints their head with chrism in the form of a cross |
What does the bishop say when he confirms? | bishop: (confirmation name), be sealed with the gift of the holy spirit teen: amen bishop: peace be with you teen: and with your spirit |
Why are you anointed with chrism in the form of a cross? | the cross shows the new task/mission may be difficult and that the confirmed may have to suffer like christ |
Effects of Confirmation... | increase in sanctifying grace & a spiritual character (helps to publicly profess and defend their faith) |
