Celebrity endorsements Where celebrities are paid to say that they use a particular product to influence us to buy it
Five senses Sight, Smell, Touch, Sound and Taste
Food sustainability Buying foods that do not harm the environment. Food sustainability means maintaining a healthy food supply for future generations
Sustainability Maintaining the world we live in for future generations of humans, plants and animals
Ecological issues Relate to how living things, especially humans, interact with and impact on their environment
Food miles The distance food travels before it can be purchased
Organic food Food that has been produced without the use of artificial fertilisers or pesticides
Biodegradable Packaging that breaks down naturally and harmlessly in the environment
Ethical issues Involves us making decisions about what we believe to be right or wrong
Fairtrade It means that farmers in developing countries have been paid a fair price for their produces and that workers have a good working conditions
Vegan A person that does not eat any animal products
Lacto-vegetarion A person that does not eat any meat, fish or poultry but will eat animal products
Functions of food Growth and Repair, Heat and Energy, Protections from disease, Curbs hunger, Enjoyment (physical), Share with family and friends, Social events (social)
