What does sweat do for your body? It cools it down when it becomes overheated.
What is absolute humidity? The mass of water vapor contained in a certain volume of air
What is relative humidity? The ratio of the mass of water vapor in the air at a given temperature to the maximum mass of water vapor the air could hold at that temperature, expressed as a percentage.
What is the greenhouse effect? the process by which certain gases trap heat that radiates from earth.
What is parts per million? the number of molecules of a substance in a mixture for every 1 million molecules in that mixture
Why does sweating cool you down? Because it releases water out onto your skin through your pores, and then evaporates, leaving your skin feeling cool because all the energy is gone.
What is the percentage of nitrogen in the air? 78%
What is the percentage of oxygen in the air? 21%
What would happen if you removed all the carbon dioxide in the world?
What would happen if you removed all the ozone in the world?
What makes up the majority of the air that we exhale? nitrogen
Do we exhale more carbon dioxide or more oxygen? oxygen
Does the data indicate any significant global warming? No
Is the air cleaner today or 30 years ago? today
What is a cost/benefit analysis?
What does a catalytic converter do in a car?
What does a scrubber do in a smokestack?
How quickly would water evaporate from a glass if the relative humidity was at 100%? The water wouldn't evaporate because the air is already at 100%; it can't take any more water.
Would a candle at high altitudes burn dimmer, brighter, or the same as a candle at low altitudes? Dimmer
If a scientist would measure the percentages of nitrogen and oxygen in air, would they be greater than, less than, or the same as the dry air percentages? less than
Some people say that their plants grow better when they sing to them or read them stories. Why is this statement true scientifically? Because they are exhaling carbon dioxide onto it.
The concentration of argon in the air is about 0.9%. What is that in ppm? 9,000
Is ultraviolet light visible to the eye? No, it isn't.
