what is the likely cause of swollen jugular veins? too much fluid fluid volume overload
dysphagia- having trouble swallowing
what is the cause for swollen tragus? outer ear inection
icterie sclera- the white part of your eye is yellow, a sign of jaundice
excoriation- skin lesions
tender mobile lymph nodes = infection
non tender hard lymph nodes= malignancy possible cancer (emergency investigation)
what are people with ectropian, entropian and exothalamus at risk for? eye irritation, eye infection, and dry eye
what could be the cause of conjuctivitis? allergies, virus, and bacteria
what is cherry red lips a sign of? carbon monoxide poisoning
what does palpation of the thyroid gland reveal? possible tracheal deviation which accompanies potentially tension pneumothroax (lung collapse)
the most frequently measured thyroid hormones that control metabolic rates and affect all body systems? thyronine (T3) & thyroxine(T4)
signs of meningitis? neck pain with fever & headache
signs of myocardial infarction ? sudden onset pain of neck or jaw and should be evaluated for cardiac etiologies
when is visual acuity tested? head injury or trauma to the eye
