| Agnostic | Unsure of the existence of a sacred being |
| nontheism | Doesn't focus on sacred beings, takes no position Ex: Buddhism |
| Monotheism | Believe in 1 god Ex: Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism |
| Unitary monotheism/Unitarianism | Believe in 1 god, single being, no other forms Ex: Judaism, Islam |
| Trinitary monotheism/Trinitarianism | Believe in 1 god, 3 forms but still 1 being Ex: Christianity, Hinduism |
| Deism | Believe in 1 god, but god is unconcerned in humans Ex: none, more philosophy than religion |
| Monism | Believe in 1 god, everything is a manifestation of god Ex: Hinduism |
| Polytheism | Believe in several gods Ex: Greek, Roman, Indigenous, Pagan |
| Dualism | Everything is made of opposed or complementary things Ex: Confucianism, Ying & Yang, Zoroastrianism |
| Pantheism | God is everything, but cannot go beyond physical universe Ex: more philosophy |
| Panentheism | God is everything but can go beyond the physical universe Ex: More philosophy |
| Animism | Everyone has a soul & spirit and gives it life and purpose Ex: First people |
| Henotheism | Believe in multiple gods but worship only one Ex: transition polytheistic to monotheistic |
