What is socialisation? Socialisation is a lifelong process by which people acquire attitudes, beliefs and behavioural pattern expected of society.
What are the 5 concepts to socialistaion? Family,Peer group,Religion,Media,School
What affects development ? Culture,tempremant, gender, family, post natal depression.
What is social development? how a child learns to interact with those around them.
What is emotional devlopment? The ability to express, manage and recognize feelings
What is Self Awareness? To be concious of ones self
When does self awareness occur? after 18 months
what is self image influenced by? Our interactions
Is sex different to gender? Yes
What is attachment? attachment is an emotional connection with the caregiver.
What is different about Bowlbys and ainsowrth theory ? Bowlby believed attachment was born through genetics whereas ainsworth believed it was developed through the carer
Name 2 long term consequences to no attachment? Deliquency and reduced intelligence.
Name 3 factors of attachment? Oppurtunity,Quality caregiving and bonding
How does seperation and loss occur? Change of carer-Divorce-Residential care
What is distress syndrome? A pattern of behaviours that cause seperation and loss
Define despair The manifestation of no return
Define distress Expressions of anger
Define detatchment Seperation of memories
What is sibling rivalry ? This refers to feelings of jealousy, anger and resentment towards a sibling which results in unacceptable bheaviour.
When can post-natal depression occur? Approximetely 4 months after childbirth
