When is a child overweight? If he or she is above 95% percentile for body mass index(BMI) by sex and age.
Childhood obesity causes: asthma, increased BP & HR, type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, hyperlipidemia, hip and knee problems, social stigma
ANOREXIA NERVOSA psychological disorder that causes a client to drastically reduce calories consumed, causing altered metabolism.
Bulimia Syndrome in which the client alternately binges and purges by inducing vomiting and using laxatives and diuretics to get rid of ingested food.
