What is the purpose of red bone marrow and where is it found? | It creates new blood through hematopoiesis, and it is found in bones, most often the medullary cavities of long bones. |
How does the skeletal system maintain electrolyte homeostasis, and what is it made of? | It is made of mostly calcium with some phosphorus, and it stores calcium that is in excess or breaks down bones to release it into the bloodstream when needed. |
What can you do to ensure strong bones for the longest period of time possible? | Exercise/weight training puts more pressure on bones, causing them to reinforce themselves, and ensure adequate calcium intake |
