Term used for an extreme hypersensitive reaction to an antigen that can lead to life-threatening response. Anaphylaxis
Term for chest pain caused by inadequate oxygen to the heart. Angina
Protein produced by the immune system in response to the presence of a foreign substance. Antibodies
A substance introduced into the body to stimulate the production of an antibody. Antigen
The act of inhaling or ingesting, such as a foreign object. Aspiration
Term for the respiratory disease characterized by labored breathing, chest constriction, and coughing. Asthma
A plan of action for restoring consciousness or life, AKA CPR. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Term for a medical condition in which involuntary contraction of muscles take place. Convulsion
Term for a neurologic disorder with sudden recurring seizures of motor, sensory or psychic malfunction. Epilepsy
Term for redness of the skin, often caused by injury or irritation. Erythema
Term for a way of walking. Gait
Term for the state of being excessively sensitive to a substance, often with allergic reactions. Hypersensitivity
Term for an abnormally fast or deep breathing. Hyperventilation
Term for an abnormal low blood pressure reading. Hypotension
Low oxygen levels in blood causing medical symptoms. Hypoxic
Damage to the muscular tissue of the heart commonly caused by obstructed circulation; referred to as a Heart Attack Myocardial Infarction
Loss of Consciousness caused by insufficient blood to the brain; AKA Fainting Syncopy
Irregular cardiac rhythm that prevents the hear from pumping blood. Ventricular Fibrillation (VF)
