Term | Definition |

Turning Point | A major shift in the direction of events that changes the course of history. |
Bombard | To attack continuously with bombs or missiles. |
Loyalist | A colonist who supported Great Britain's right to rule. |
Tory | A colonist who was loyal to Great Britain during the American Revolutionary War. |
Militia | A group of ordinary citizens who organize themselves for military service. |
Topography | The physical elevation and features of an area of land. |
Minutemen | Colonial militia who would be ready to fight on a minute’s notice. |
A Black Regiment | A unit of the Continental Army that allowed the recruitment of African Americans. |
Redcoats | British soldiers, especially during the American Revolutionary War. |
Patriot | Someone who loves and supports their country. |
