Powers of gov
Term | Definition |

Examples of delegated powers | Maintain army and navy, declare war, coin money, regulate trade between states w/ foreign nations, make all laws necessary of carrying out delegated powers |
Concurrent powers | Powers shared by BOTH Federal and State governments |
Reserved powers | granted to the STATES for example marriage & drivers license |
Examples of reserved powers | conduct elections, establish schools, regulate businesses within a state, est. local gov, regulate marriage, assume other powers not given to national gov |
Delegated Powers | are specifically granted to the federal government. |
Implied Powers | Congress would be able to use the "necessary and proper" aka elastic clause to create new laws to help run the country (ex child labor laws) |
Nullification | each state has the right to invalidate any federal laws that is deemed unconstitutional with respect to the US Constitution. |
Examples of concurrent powers | enforce laws, est courts, borrow money, protect the safety of the people, build roads, collect taxes |
