Contraindications | 2nd or 3rd degree heart block, blood pressure less than 90, recent MI, pulmonary congestion, concurrent use of rifampin |
Adverse reactions | periperal edema, gingival hyperplasia |
Grapefruit juice | increases serum levels and effect |
Nursing | Assess for signs of CHF |
Labs | Potassium, hypokalemia increases risk of arrhythmias and should be corrected, may cause an increase in hepatic enzymes |
