Caries | Also known as tooth decay or dental cavities. |
Calculus | Calcified dental plaque, composed primarily of calcium phosphate mineral salts deposited between & within remnants of formerly viable microorganisms. |
Restorations | A method used in restoring a tooth as close as possible to its original structure & function. |
Furcation | Bone loss, which is usually from periodontal (gum) disease & affects the base of the root trunk of a tooth where two or more roots meet. |
Dental Explorer | A versatile & useful dental tool for any professional dentistry practice, used to examine teeth. |
Impacted Teeth | A condition in which a tooth fails to fully grow out (erupt) from the gums. |
Periapical | Encompassing or surrounding the tip of the root of a tooth |

Bitewing | Show teeth above the gum line & the height of the bone between the teeth. They help diagnose gum disease & cavities between teeth. |

Magnetic Resonance Tomography | A procedure that uses radio waves, a powerful magnet, & a computer to make a series of detailed pictures of areas inside the body. |
