Question | Answer |
---|---|
What is central dogma? | the flow of genetic information in one direction, within a biological system |
What is a gene? | a segment of DNA, located in a chromosome that contains the instructions for protein production, determines characteristics |
what is a genotype? | a combination of alleles that an organism inherits from its parents, versions of a trait |
what is a phenotype? | a physical trait you can see in an organism |
How do genotype and phenotype relate to central dogma? | genotypes (set of 2 alleles, each inherited by a parent) determine whats in the DNA, and DNA in central dogma creates proteins, proteins in central dogma affected by the genotypes, take into effect and create the phenotypes, the physical characteristics |
