Aqueous Solution | a mixture where water acts as the solvent |
Solute | a substance that dissolves in another substance (called a solvent) to form a solution |
Solvent | a substance, usually a liquid, that has the ability to dissolve other substances (called solutes) to form a solution |
Concentration | he amount of a substance (called the solute) present in a given volume of a mixture or solution |
Saturation | the point where a solution contains the maximum amount of a solute that can be dissolved under given conditions |
Homogenous Mixture | a combination of two or more substances where the components are uniformly distributed throughout |
Saturated Solution | a solution that contains the maximum amount of solute that can dissolve in a given solvent under specific conditions of temperature and pressure |
Dilution | the process of decreasing the concentration of a solute in a solution by adding more solvent, like water, to it |
Unsaturated Solution | a solution where the amount of dissolved solute is less than the maximum amount that can be dissolved in the solvent at a given temperature |
