Define acid and base electrolytes and list some characteristics. 1) Acids: Taste sour, PH below 7, give off H+ 2) Bases: Taste bitter, PH above 7, alkaline, dissociate in a solution, Decrease H+ Break up/dissociate in water to form charged particles called ions that have a positive or negative charge.
