Causes of mediastinal mass | leukemia, lymphoma, neuroblastoma, other tumors, infections (Eg TB) |
Respiratory clinical findings with mediastinal mass | cough, wheezing, tracheal/ bronchial compression, respiratory distress/ arrest. Compensation may involve pillow use / increased difficulty when supine |
Two prohibited actions on a pt with a mediastinal mass | -lying supine or prone-sedate without intubating |
Circultory findings in pt with mediastinal mass | -facial swelling-JVD-compression of great vessels/ vital structures |
