Sierra Madre Mountains a chain of 3 mountain ranges together in MEXICO. ( Sierra Occidential, Sierra Oriental, Sierra De Sur)
Andes Mountains runs from Colombia through Chile. Some of the tallest peaks in Latin America
Atacama Desert found on the coast of Chile. This is considered one of the dryest places on earth, in places has not rained for 400 years.
Pamana Canal a man-made series of lakes, locks, and channels used to reduce the travel time from the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean
Brazil largest country in South America, it shares a border with all but two countries.
Chile a long thin country that runs the west coast of South America
Colombia located on the northwest portion of South America
Venezuela located to the east of Colombia on the northeast portion of South America
Cuba located 90 miles off the coast of USA between the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea
Mexico shares a north border with the US,
Panama located on an isthmas between Central and South America , home to the Panama Canal were the country is 50 miles wide.
Cause of Air Pollution in Mexico 19 million people live in Mexico city, many people, cars, and factories causing emissions to pollute the air.
Effects of Air pollution in Mexcio affects the very young and very old, lung and respiratory disease. children likely to have breathing issues, must stay inside
Solutions to Air Pollution of Mexico Hoy No Circula- leave car at home 1 day a week, encourage to take public transportation, inspect factories, emissions, rooftop gardens
Cause of Deforestation slash and burn, cattle ranches, mining, clear cutting, Trans Amazon Highway
Effects of Deforestation loss of oxygen, animal habitats, soil erosion and flooding, important plans for medicines are lost
Solution to Deforestation create protected areas, plant seedlings, enforce action against illegal logging, look for ways to gain resources without cutting down trees
Resources from Cuba sugar cane , tobacco, fruit
Resources from Mexico silver , oil, gold
Resources from Brazil coffee, timber, gold
arable fertile land, good for farming
urban areas large cities, many people here for the resources of jobs, hospitals, schools, etc.
