Which countries typically have the lowest HDI? LDC's. They are typically in sub-Saharan Africa.
Define GDP Gross Domestic Product-the value of the total output of goods and services produced in a country. (typically in a year)
Point out an average GDP for an MDC and an average GDP for an LDC: MDC: exceeds $20,000 LDC: about $1,000
What is a weakness of GDP as a development index or measure? Not everyone is wealthy in MDC's and not everyone is poor in LDC's.
Define each of the following job types: Primary Secondary Primary: Directly extract materials form Earth through agriculture, and sometimes by mining, fishing, and forestry. Secondary: Manufacturers that process, transform, and assemble raw materials into useful products.
What nonessential consumer goods do geographers study to measure development? Cars, telephones, entertainment, televisions, etc.
