Properties
Question | Answer |
---|---|
Thermal Conductivity | rate of heat conduction through a material when a temperature difference occurs through the material |
Hardness | surface resistance to scratching |
Abrasion (wear) | removal of surface layers when two surfaces make frictional contact |
Rigidity | Young's Modulus - Ratio of stress to strain. Measure of amount of stress needed to cause material dimensions to change (ie undergo strain) |
Depth of Cure | Depth at which composite resin hardness is half that of the surface |
Creep | ability of material to change its shape when low level loading is applied repeatedly |
Thermal expansion | contraction or expansion rate of material compared to tooth during temperature differences |
Viscoelasticity | Strain vs. Time |
