Personality Disorders When personality traits becomes inflexible and dysfunctional. It can be pervasive, chronic or maladaptive.
Paranoid Personality Disorder pattern of distrust, suspicious of others that they are out to get them. Feels attacked by others.
Schizoid Personality Disorder: pattern of detachment from social relationships and restricted range of emotions.
Schizotypal Personality Disorder: pattern of difficulties in social or interpersonal relationship in which patients suffer acute discomfort.

Antisocial Personality Disorder: pattern of disregard for and violation of rights of others.

Borderline Personality Disorder: pattern of instability in interpersonal relationship, self-image, marked compulsivity

Histrionic Personality Disorder pattern of excessive emotionally and attention seeking

Narcissistic Personality Disorder: pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration and lack of empathy.

Avoidant Personality Disorder: pattern of social inhibition accompanied by feelings of inadequacy and hypersensitivity to negative evaluation

Dependent Personality Disorder: pattern of submission and clinging behavior related to an excessive need to be taken care of
Dependent Personality Disorder: a. Damsel in distress b. Seeks relationship as a source of care and support
Obsessive-compulsive Personality Disorder: preoccupation with details, rules, order, very rigid and stubborn
Split Personality Disorder frequent utilized mechanism in borderline personality disorder.
