BP determined by 5 factors Cardiac output; peripheral vascular resistance; volume; viscosity; elasticity of arterial walls
Systole maximum pressure felt on the artery during left ventricular contraction
Diastole elastic recoil, or resting pressure that the blood constantly exerts on the artery
Pulse Pressure Difference between systolic & diastolic; reflects stroke volume
Apical pulse location? 5th intercostal space at left midventricular line
Temperature Normal Range 35.8 - 37.3
