Who sent expeditions to NC in the late 1500's trying to establish a colony? Sir Walter Raleigh.

How were the Aztecs so easily conquered? The spainish had guns, horses, and diseases. They believed the Spanish were their Gods & they also recruited many Aztec enemies.
Why were the Incas so easily destroyed? They depended on their ruler for everything and then kidnapped him. They carried diseases and had weapons and horses.
Which Spanish explorer came closest to present day Mooresville? Hernando de Soto.
What was/were the main goals of the Spanish in the New World? They wanted to gain more gold, silver, new land, and convert others to Christianity.
What was/were the main goals of the French in the New World? They wanted to trade fur.
What was/were the main goals of the English in the New World? They wanted more colonies.
What are the two main branches of Christianity? Catholic and Protestant.
What two reasons did the King of Spain want to marry Elizabeth I? He wanted to rule England and wanted it to be Catholic again.
What was the large group of Spanish ships called that attacked England? The Spanish Armada.
