carbohydrates are shaped as... rings or drawn as short chains
carbohydrates are made of... ONLY carbon, hydrogen, oxygen
how can you tell if you have found a carbohydrate? it has only C,H,O with a 1:2:1 ratio
proteins are shaped as.... globular molecules with many shapes (structure = function)
proteins are made of.... carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen (and an "R" group)
how can you tell if you have found a protein? it has H3N across from COOH
lipids are shaped as .... long chains of hydrocarbons (H and O)
lipids are made of.... C,H,O with a COOH on one end
how can you tell is you have found a lipid? it is made of only C,H,O. it has a long chain of C and H with a COOH on the end
