QuestionAnswer
What are the five components of the first amendment? freedom of speech/expression freedom of religion freedom of assembly (peacefully) freedom of the press and freedom to petition the government.
What are the two parts of the Freedom of Religion? The establishment clause and the free excersise clause.
What is the establishment clause? the establishment clause says that the government cannot establish any official religion.
What is the free excersise clause? The Free Excesise Clause says that everyone we can worship anything we want. (Ex. Church of Elvis)
What is the second amendment? The second amendment is the right to bear arms.
What is the third amendment? The third amendment says that the government cannot house soldiers in your home without your consent.
What is the fourth amendment? The ight against unreasonable search and seizures of person's and property.
What are the four parts to the fith amendment? No double jeopordy. Make a person testify against himself/herself. Take away a person's life, liberty, or property w/o good reasons and fair prcedures. Take away a persons property unless the person is fairly paid for his/her property.
What is double jeopardy? Can't try a person more than once for the same trial.
What is the sixth amendment? A person charged fr a crime has the right to: a speedy & public trial. A jury. Be told what he/she did wrong. Call a witness to speak on his/her behalf. Have an attorny.
What does "I plead the fifth" mean? It means that when you are being charged for a crime and they try to take you up to the stand you may say "I plead the fifth" and they cannot ask you anymore questions.
What is the eighth amendment? A person charged with a crime has the right to a fair fine. And there cannot be any cruel or unusual punishment.
