| What was the Wounded Knee Massacre? (1890) | Sioux slaughtered by the U.S Army. |
| What was the Ghost Dance Movement? | vision that the Indian dead would live again, the buffalo would return, and white settlers would leave if tribes preformed the dance ritual. Eventually this is outlawed. |
| What is Americanization? | movement by the U.S govt. to make the Indians like the white people. Were taken miles away from home, had to wear white clothing and only speak English. |
| What was the Dawes Act? (1887) | Indians received desert like land and even if they received good land they didn't have money to afford farming equipment. |
