Acute inflammation response with a tissue injury damaged mast cells and platelets release chemical mediators into the ECF and Blood.
What are the immeadiate effects follwoing injury histamine released first
What are the later effects following injury Leukotrienes and prostaglandins are released.
What are chemical mediators? they are messengers released from the mast cell and platelets.
What do the chemical mediators (messengers) do? They effect blood vessels and nerves.
What are the names of the chemical mediators? histamine, serotonin and prostaglandins, leukotrines.
What do the chemical mediators do? vasodilation
what does vasodilation do? increased blood flow and increased capillary permeability
What happens once vasodilation sets in and cap permeability increases, chemotaxis triggers what? Leukocytes move to site of injury
Leukocytes are activated by chemotaxis and do what? They collect along capillary wall resulting in margination (pavementing) or adhesion to the wall
As leukocytes adhere to the capillary wall they diapedesis- which means what? emigrate through seperations in capillary wall.
As the leukocytes emigrate through capillary wall and then what? Phagocytosis begins.
Phagocytosis removal of debris and prepares for healing.
