What are the characteristics of Paranoid type Schizophrenia ? | a. Preoccupation with one or more delusions or frequent auditory hallucinations. Presence of delusions of persecution or grandeur and auditory hallucinations related to a single theme. The individual is often tense, suspicious, hostile , agressive | b. None of the following is prominent: Disorganized speech, disorganized or catatonic behavior, or flat or inappropriate affect - they do not have those characteristics / behaviors. |

What are the characteristics of Undifferentiated Type of Schizophrenia ? | A type of Schizophrenia in which symptoms that meet Criterion A are present , but the criteria are not met for Paranoid, Disorganized, or Catatonic Type. | The behavior is clearly psychotic: that is there is evidence of delusions, hallucinations,incoherence, and bizzare behavior. However, the symptoms do not can not be easily classified into any of the other types. |
What are the characteristics of Residual Type of Schizophrenia ? | A. absence of prominent delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech and grossly disorganized behavior or catatonic behavior. B. presence of negative symptoms or two or more symptoms listed in Criterion A, present in an attenuated (much less) form. | Residual Schizophrenia occurs in an individual who has a chronic form of the disease and is the stage that follows an acute episode. |
