Pearl Harbor | otherwise known as the "day of infamy"; the Japanese conducted a surprise air attack on the U.S. Pacific Naval Fleet stationed in Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941. Immediately following attack, Congress declared war on Japan. |
Stalingrad | major turning point in the war (Explain); the soviets singlehandedly forced the German Army into retreat, where fierve fighting had lasted from Aug. 1942 to Jan. 1943 |
