Describe the impact of the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments. They allowed for more freedom at the polls and in every day life. They set the ball rolling on equality for all.
Why was president johnson charged with impeachment? He violated the Tenure of Office Act
What did the southern states do to fight back against reconstruction? List and describe specific events. They passed laws and legislature, such as the black codes, as well as formed racist terror groups such as the Ku Klux Klan.
How did carpetbaggers anger the southern states? They frustrated southerners and southerners felt that they were traitors.
Why was sharecropping introduced in the 1860's and 1870's to the US? It was a profitable business strategy that was very affordable and easy.
