virginia Statue For Religious Freedom | a person could go gand learn any religion at any church. And only 1 church gets tax money can put pressure on people and so their were no more taxes for attending 1 church, but to any church. |
Suffrage | the right to vote. Only white male property owner. Then got rid of property claw. Then any female and African American. Then females and African americans were repealed. came back 1920 |
Article of Confederation 1777 | Put together this document. 1st constitution. Good and bad. Creates laws, raises taxes, makes treaties: France, native americans. No power to collect taxes/ no executives, no federal cpourts-no punishments. |

Deppression | economy so bad its deppressed, lost jobs, people print money. Massachuessuets print no money raise taxesled to Shay's rebellion. |
Shay's Rebellion 1786-1787 | low economic, no one has money, high taxes. Farmer rebel, rebel Massachusetts tryo to over through government. Show weakness Articles of Confederation. |
Constitutiuon Convention May of 1787 | in Philadelphia, revise Articles of Confederation, it wasn't working, they had to revise it, make it hush hush, only they could know about it. They knew a war would break out if everyone knew and they also need people to back it up. James M=Father of it. |
Great Compromise | a way of dealing with, (conneticute Roger Sherman) do a compromise. A two house legislature. House rep's based on population senate based on equality, just 2 votes. |
New Jersey Plan | William Paterson, one house legislature respresantation get 1 vote, all states has are equal. Big states don't like it. |
Three- Fifths Compromise | was a disagreement between south and north about slaves. North no slaves and so no to population and unfair gain. Then 3/5 of slaves population would count. and south could tax exports. 1807 slave trade band |
Comerece Compromise | Bands slavery, regulate interstat the abaility to tax inports and exports. |
George Mason | antiferderalist because consitution didn't garentee indivial rights. |
James Madison | well educated delegate, federalist also wrote the federalist paper. Father of the constitution. |

bill of rights | came about because anti and federalist they did a compromise and they attach the bill of rights to the constitution. |
