Imperfect   used for ongoing or habitual actions in the past.

Preterite   used to show that events began or were completed in the past and to view past actions as a completed whole.

Present Subjunctive   used in the subordinate clause when the verb in the main clause of a sentence that requires the subjunctive is in the present or future.

Present Perfect Subjunctive   used to express an emotion, judgement, doubt, or hope about something that has happened.

Past Subjunctive   used in the subordinate when the verb in the main clause of a sentence that requires the subjunctive is in the past or conditional.
