Digestive System   The body system that provides the nutrients your cells need to produce energy by first breaking food into nutrients, then getting the nutrients to the blood.

Saliva   A liquid produced by the glands in your mouth that moistens the food and begins to break down the starchy foods, such as pastas , into sugar.

Esophagus   A long tube that food passes through to get into the stomach.

Stomach   The organ that partially digests food.

Small Intestine   The organ in the digestive system that digest food into nutrients.  
🗑
Large Intestine   The organ in the digestive system where undigested food enters from the small intestine. Water and minerals diffuse into the blood and wastes are removed from the body.

Liver   An organ of the digestive system that produces bile.  
🗑
Bile   A yellow-green fluid that is made by the liver, stored in the gallbladder and passes through the common bile duct into the duodenum where it helps digest fat.

Gallbladder   An organ of the digestive system that stores bile until needed.

Pancreas   An organ of the digestive system that produces a fluid that neutralizes stomach acid and chemicals that help finish digestion.
