| Cytoplasm | Jelly-like fluid that holds the organelles in place |
| Chromatin | Stores the genetic information |
| Endoplasmic Retuculum | A network of tubes responsible for transporting material from one part of the cell to another |
| Golgi Apparatur | Packages proteins for distribution to other parts of the cell |
| Golgi Vesicle | A sac that comes off the Golgi Apparatur |
| Lysosomes | Contain digestive enzymes |
| Mitochondria | Referred to as the "powerhouse" of the cell because it produces energy. |
| Nucleolus | Site where RNA is made |
| Nucleus | Contains the genetic material of the cell. It is often referred to as the "brain" of the cell |
| Ribsosome | These organelles help with the making of proteins |
| Vacuoles | Storage location for food, water and wastes |

| Incandescence | The production of light as a result of high temperatures |
| Electromagnetic Spectrum | The full range of frequencies, from radio waves to gamma waves |
| Opaque Materials | Materials that do not allow light to ass thorough them |
| Translucent Materials | Materials that allow some light to pass through them, while some light is scattered |
| Chemiluminescence | The production of light as a result of a chemical reaction with little or no heat produced |
| Hyperopia | Far sighted, it is when the light enteres your eye where the light meets where the image is formed. it is formed after your retna |
| Myopia | near sighted when light enters your eye where the light meets is where the image is formed. The image s formed before your retina. |
| Proxy Records | Ice cores and tree rings that give an indication of past climate |
| Thermal expansion | The property of water to increase in volume as a result of temperature increase |
| Energy Balance | When the energy (solar radiation) coming in to the earth is equal to the energy going out. |
| Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide | Comes from the burning of fossil fuels |
| Carbon Footprint | The amount of greenhouse gas emissions by a person or a technology |
| Nitrous Oxide | A greenhouse gas that's 300 times more powerful than carbon dioxide (CO2) |
| Methane | A greenhouse gas produced in the agricultural industry by livestock |
