| Boston Massacre 1770 | Colonist called the shooting the Boston Massacre. |
| Boston Tea Party 1773 | After dumping over 340 tea chests into the Boston Harbor, the colonists headed home to remove their disguises. Known as the Boston Tea Party. |
| Sons of Liberty | The Sons of Liberty were people who protested against the King and asked for freedom and more rights. |
| Intolerable Acts 1774 | In spring of 1774 it passed the Coercive Acts. But colonists called it the Intolerable Acts. |

| Patriots | Colonists known as Patriots chose to fight for independence. |
| Loyalists | Sometimes called Tories- were those who remained loyal to Great Britian. |
