waves evidence of energy transfer through space. For this energy to be transferred, it has to start somewhere. The Disturbance is the place where energy transfer starts( a vibration)

elctromagnetic waves produced form vibrations of electrically charged particles ( Protons/Electrons) within the electric field that surrounds them.
medium any matter (solid, liquid, gas) that has molecules to transport the wave’s energy. Think of the medium a the item that is disturbed with the vibrations.
mechanical vs. electromagnetic waves Mechanical Waves require a medium, but electromagnetic waves don’ t require a medium.
