Quehl science plant unit

TermDefinition
plant A living thing that grows on land or in the water, cannot move from place to place, and usually has green leaves.
cell The smallest and most basic unit of a living thing.
root The part of the plant that takes in water and nutrients and provides support for the plant.
stem The part of the plant that holds up the leaves and carries water and nutrients through the plant.
leaf The part of the plant that collects sunlight and gases from the air and uses them to make food for the plant.
energy The ability to cause change.
organism Is a living thing.
environment All the living and nonliving things that surround an organism.
ecosystem All the living and nonliving things that exist and interact in one place.
solar energy Energy that comes from the sun.
