Ecology | the pattern of the interrelationships of organisms and their environment, and the science that is concerned with that relationship |
Biologist | a person who studies living organisms |
Economics | the science that deals with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services, or the material welfare of humankind |
Food Science | the study of the nature of foods and the changes that occur in them naturally and as a result of handling and processing |
Nutrients | providing nourishment or nutriment |
Compliance | conformity or obedience |
Inspector | an official who examines for compliance with regulations, standards, etc. |
FDA | abbreviation for Food and Drug Administration |
USDA | abbreviation for United States Department of Agriculture |
Horticulture | the art or science of cultivating gardens |
Natural Resources | Materials or substances such as minerals, forests, water, and fertile land that occur in nature and can be used for economic gain |
Non-renewable resources | resource of economic value that cannot be readily replaced by natural means on a level equal to its consumption |
