What is vitamin C's functions? This vitamins functions are: 1.maintains your connective tissue 2.helps your immune system 3.develops strong bones 4.prevents diseases and allergies
What is fat's function? Transports vitamins through the bloodstream, create and extra supply of energy, and prevents dry skin
What are proteins function? Used to build and repair the body's cells; helps build enzymes that regulate the body's chemical activities
Keratin A protein that fills your epidermal cells and give nails their strength and hardness
Hair follicles Tubes that lie in the dermis and manufacture hair
Acne The condition in which many sebaceous glands become infected
Coronary artery disease Atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries
Atherosclerosis A buildup of fatty deposits in any of the body's arteries that eventually prevents the flow of blood
Heart attacks Occurs when the coronary arteries supplying the heart become blocked
Cardiovascular disease The leading cause of death in the U.S.; a disease that affects the heat or blood vessels
Narcotics Drugs derived form the opium poppy plant
Metastasis the process of malignant tumors spreading to other parts of the body
Alcohol The most commonly abused depressant
Emphysema A disease in which the lungs alveoli collapse, making breathing extremely difficult
Nicotine A commonly abused stimulant found in tobacco products including cigarettes, snuff, and chewing tobacco.
Metamphetamine Another commonly abused stimulant that causes severe effects on the nervous, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems.
