Keyboarding Vocab #5

TermDefinition
alignment How your text conforms to the left and right margins of a page. The text can be right-aligned, centered, left-aligned, or fully-aligned/justified.
bold A style of text that makes a letter or word darker and thicker to stand out in a document.
document A user-created file, as opposed to a program file.
format To set the margins, tabs, font or line spacing in layout of a document.
formatting tools Tools that are used to give shape, size, and general makeup (as of something printed).
template A special kind of document that provides basic format for creating certain types of documents. The original is never changed. Every time it is opened, a clean copy is opened for editing.
text box a common element of graphical user interface (GUI) of computer programs to allow the user to input text information to be used by the program
text formatting Changing the appearance of the letters and words in your document (e.g. size, style, underline, bullets)
table Columns and rows of cells that can be filled with text that are used to organize information
thesaurus A feature in most word processors used to replace a word in a document with one that is more suitable and adds variety to your writing
word processor The software used to produce documents, such as letters, posters, reports, and syllabi.
word processing Using keyboarding skills to produce documents such as letters, reports, manuals, and newsletters.
word wrap This occurs when you get to the end of a line and continue typing the text will then go to the next line.
