DefinitionTerm
anything that has mass and takes up space matter
descibes the amount of matter in something mass
a measurement of gravitational force on something weight

a measure of the amount of mass in a given volume. Sometimes described as how compact something is. density
a characteristic of something that does not involve a chemical change. Ex density, color, hardness physiclal property

a change of one or more physical properties of a something. Ex: crushing a can, melting ice, breaking glass. physical change
a change that occurs when something changes into a whole new thing with different properties. Ex: cooking an egg, rusting of iron, rotting banana chemical change
law that states energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another. law of conservation of energy
law that states in ordinary chemical and physical changes, mass is not created or destroyed. Mass is only transformed into different substances. Law of conservation of mass
