Latin America

Atacama Desert This is the most arid region of Latin America. It is located in Chile to the west of the Andes Moutains
Amazon River This is located in Brazil and runs through the rain forest. It is the longest river in Latin America.
Gulf of Mexico This body of water is located to the east of Mexico and is nearly surrounded by Mexico.
Caribbean Sea This body of water is located to the east of Central America, and it holds many small island nations.
Panama Canal Man-made waterway that connects the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans
The Andes Mountains Long mountain range located in western South America
Sierra Madres The mountain ranges that runs along the western and eastern sides of Mexico and Central America
Pacific Ocean The ocean to the west of Latin America
Bolivia Land-locked country in South America (not Paraguay)
Climate The typical weather conditions for a particular region
Natural Resource Useful materials found, not made,by human beings. Examples might be rocks, minerals, forests, and arable land.
Population Distribution The arrangement or spread of people living in a region
Cuba This country is a large island nation with many ports, but is it small compared to other nations. It has a tropical climate, but is often agricultural products. It is communists, so trade is limitied with this nation.
Brazil This country is the largest country in Latin America. Its rain forests provide vast natural resources for trade. People here live near the coast because the interior is covered with rain forests. The climate is tropical.
Mexico This country has diverse climate regions. Its main export is oil, but it also exports silver and farm goods. Its main trade partner is the IS because it borders the US.
Venezuela This country has coasts on the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, making trade easy. IT is also close to the Panama Canal. Its climate is tropical, but cooler in the mountains. Its main export is oil.
Air Pollution Contaminating the atmosphere with harmful chemicals
Deforestion Cutting down huge chucks of forested regions
Amazon The name of the rain forest in Brazil
Mexico City This country has major air pollution problems n its capital city.
Venezuela The country where oil-related pollution is a problem
Mulatto A person of mixed African and European descent.
Mestizo A person mixed native and European desent
Catholic Religion practiced by Spanish colonists to Latin America. Many Spanish mission also converted native people
Portuguese Main language of Brazil
Spanish Main language of most Latin America
