binding arbitration | a judgment made by a third party to settle a dispute between two other parties, which is obligatory |
strike | Stoppage of work due to conflict over mandatory issues (issues that must be resolved through collective bargaining) such as wages or working conditions. |
featherbedding | the practice of a labor union requiring an employer to hire more workers than necessary for a particular task. |
preferred stock | A class of ownership in a corporation that has a higher claim on its assets and earnings |
common stock | A security that represents ownership in a corporation |
stock | A type of security that signifies ownership in a corporation and represents a claim on part of the corporation's assets and earnings. |
stockholder | .An individual, group, or organization that holds one or more shares in a company, and in whose name the share certificate is issued. |
stock broker | An agent that charges a fee or commission for executing buy and sell orders submitted by an investor. |

bull market | A financial market of a group of securities in which prices are rising or are expected to rise. |
bear market | A market condition in which the prices of securities are falling, and widespread pessimism causes the negative sentiment to be self-sustaining. |
trade surplus | An economic measure of a positive balance of trade, where a country's exports exceeds its imports |
trade deficit | An economic measure of a negative balance of trade in which a country's imports exceeds its exports |
