Psychology perspectives

humanist perspective stresses individual choice and free will; believes we choose most of our behaviors
psychoanalytic perspective belief that the unconscious mind controls most of our thoughts and actions
biopsychology perspective belief that biological processes and our nervous system is responsible for most of our thoughts and actions
evolutionary perspective examines human thoughts and actions in terms of natural selection
behavioral perspective explains human behavior in terms of conditioning/learning
cognitive perspective examines human though and behavior in terms of how we interpret, process, and remember environmental events
social-cultural perspective looks at influence of cultural and social factors on the way we think and act
biopyschosocial perspective combination of biological, psychological, and social factors
ecletic claims no one perspective has all of the answers, but a mix of them
